Under Armour to expand HOVR range for 2019
Sports brand Under Armour has announced that in 2019 it will release a full suite of high-performance running shoes featuring its HOVR cushioning and energy return system.

First unveiled at the end of 2017, this technology was developed jointly by Under Armour and researchers at chemical group Dow. At the time of its release, the brand promised HOVR would give runners a “zero-gravity feel”.

The UA HOVR range for spring 2019 features five different running shoes:

The UA HOVR Infinite, created for distance training with a neutral cushioning level;
The UA HOVR Guardian, a shoe designed for stability, again built for long distance running;
The UA HOVR Velociti 2, which Under Armour describes as a “tempo trainer”;
The UA HOVR Sonic 2, which blends cushioning and flexibility for smooth running;
The UA HOVR Phantom SE, a breathable model with an anatomically-shaped collar and a 3D-moulded footbed.

In addition to creating HOVR products for a variety of runners, Under Armour is making each of its shoes connected, allowing the wearer to track their performance data through a smartphone application.

The full range of footwear will be available worldwide, expanding the reach of the HOVR technology.
