Under Armour says new cushioning system will give shoes ‘zero-gravity’ feel
02/11/2017
Chief operating officer, Patrik Frisk, said on announcing the development that running is Under Armour’s largest footwear category and “biggest long-term growth opportunity”. He described the new cushioning system as “very exciting” and said it would launch in shoes Under Armour will bring to market in spring 2018. He explained that the brand had set out to give runners a “zero-gravity feel” and insisted that HOVR accomplishes this.
The first shoe to use the cushioning system will also feature Under Armour’s latest embedded connected sensor, which will allow runners to track distance, pace and even the life of the shoe.
Mr Frisk said: “This new platform becomes our third distinct cushioning technology, along with Micro G and Charged, and further demonstrates our commitment to running.”
