DuPont sets up recycling programme for protective garments

20/11/2018
DuPont has announced an initiative to allow companies in the US to recycle protective clothing made from its Tyvek non-woven fabric.

Breathable Tyvek fabric, which repels liquids and aerosols, is widely used in protective clothing in applications ranging from spray painting to the removal of asbestos. DuPont has said it will now collect and recycle used Tyvek garments and put the material to new use.

As part of the programme, recycled Tyvek will go into products as diverse as park benches and pallets. The service will be free to qualifying customers in the US.
