Cifra puts its WKS idea into winter sports project

Specialist warp knit fabric manufacturer Cifra will use ISPO in Munich (February 3-6) to present a project called Thermo, which focuses on body heat management for winter sports apparel.

This collection includes items of clothing made with WKS (Warp Knit Seamless) technology, which Cifra has developed using Thermolite and Emana yarns; Cifra has patented the technology.

The combination of yarns makes it possible to obtain lightweight, insulated items that are easy to dry, the company said, guaranteeing constant warmth regardless of whatever the outside temperature may be, for greater comfort during physical exertion.

In addition to this, the technical support of Emana allows for the absorption of heat produced by the human body to be released back into the skin, thanks to the inclusion of minerals in the fibre. This heat reaches the body in the form of far infrared rays and also stimulates blood micro-circulation. This type of fabric technology has long been claimed to be instrumental in improving performance in sport activities and aiding injury recovery.
