The first of these is the Nonwovens Forum, which is jointly organised by ITMA and the European Disposables and Nonwovens Association (EDANA). It will take place on June 21 under the theme: ‘Nonwovens Manufacturing Processes for the 21st Century: More Flexible, More Efficient, More Sustainable’.
The forum will have three sessions, which will be dedicated to the following topics:
• Circular economy/challenges & opportunities for processing bio-based & recycled materials on nonwovens machinery;
• Latest trends and innovation in nonwoven processes – including hybrids and composites;
• Innovations in nonwovens technology.
There will also be a panel discussion featuring experts from leading centres of excellence in nonwovens. They will give their thoughts on the nonwoven processes of the 2030s.
The second forum that ITMA has highlighted is the third Textile Colourant and Chemical Leaders Forum, which will take place on June 23. It will focus on the circular economy, resource sustainability strategy and how innovation will drive future industry success. Its theme is: ‘Meeting Resource Challenges in the Circular Economy’.
Speakers confirmed for this forum include Christina Raab, global implementation director for The ZDHC Foundation, and Ms Dunja Drmac, sustainability officer of the European Apparel and Textile Confederation (EURATEX).
Registration for these forums is open on the ITMA website, where there are also details of other co-located events at ITMA 2019.
