Eastman to partner with CLASS

Specialty materials provider Eastman has announced a new partnership with Milan-based CLASS, a hub that specialises in promoting environmental responsibility in fashion.

The two organisations agreed to work together at the most recent edition of the Première Vision exhibition in Paris in mid-February.

At the Paris event, Eastman showcased more than 100 fabrics made by 20 partner mills from its Naia yarn, which is derived from bio-based wood pulp, with the wood, in turn, coming from
sustainably managed pine and eucalyptus plantations.

Eastman produces Naia in a closed-loop production process in which safe solvents and water are recycled and reused. It has recently been certified as biodegradable in freshwater.
