21/06/2019
Advanced materials developer Eastman has agreed to acquire Spanish cellulosic yarn producer INACSA, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The deal is for INACSA’s entire yarn business and assets, including the plant it owns in La Batllòria, in Spain’s Barcelona province. It is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2019.

Making the announcement, Brad Lich, Eastman’s chief commercial officer, said: “With the acquisition of INACSA, Eastman gains a well-respected yarn producer and a European site that will enhance our ability to support the global textiles supply. We look forward to welcoming the INACSA employees to the Eastman team.”

He described it as a “bolt-on acquisition” that was in line with Eastman’s growth strategy and objectives. It will support the continued development of the company’s Naia cellulosic yarn.
