Eastman to showcase Naia at Copenhagen Summit

Materials company Eastman will use the tenth Copenhagen Fashion Summit (May 15-16) to promote its Naia cellulosic yarn. A special ‘pitch stage’ for new ideas will be part of the summit’s Innovation Forum and Naia will be the sponsor of that segment.

Eastman’s marketing director for textiles, Ruth Farrell, said on making the announcement: “Naia gives designers a sustainable design choice with fabrics that are both beautiful and versatile.” Made from wood sourced from sustainably managed pine and eucalyptus plantations and forests, Naia is certified as biodegradable in fresh water.

To make Naia, the company uses a closed-loop production process in which safe solvents and water are recycled and reused, ensuring a low carbon and water footprint.
