Lycra and Nike among Global Fashion Summit speakers
The Global Fashion Summit is under way in Copenhagen (June 3 to 6). The theme, ‘Barriers and Bridges’, represents where “traditional barriers have the possibility to transform into bridges for change”.
Among speaker at the event are Lycra CEO Gary Smith and Qore CEO Jon Veldhouse, who will discuss Lycra’s partially biobased elastane, which sources field corn from Iowa.
The newly constructed Qore site in Eddyville began operating last month and has started producing QIRA, a bio-based building block of elastane. The company will host a grand opening celebration in July.
Other speakers at the Summit include Andreas Dorner and Ebru Özküçük Güler from RE&UP; Golnaz Armin and Aurélie Louis-Alexandre from Nike; Norrøna’s Brad Boren, Beth Jensen from Textile Exchange and Krishna Manda of Lenzing Group.
