TrusTrace open sources traceability guide
14/06/2022
Compiled in collaboration with sustainably minded initiatives Fashion for Good and Fashion Revolution, the guide was launched during non-profit the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA)’s two-day Global Fashion Summit event in Copenhagen in June.
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark (pictured, second from left) was in attendance and attended the company’s section during the summit.
“Together with some of the most knowledgeable, best-informed minds in the industry, we’ve created a resource for fashion that will significantly support sustainable transformation,” commented so-founder and chief executive at the Swedish enterprise, Shameek Ghosh (pictured, second from right).
TrusTrace described the publication as a “go-to manual”, offering in-depth analysis, case studies from brands such as adidas, an early adopter of its material-level traceability software, plus practical advice on how to navigate traceability legislation and digital trends.
On announcing that it had open-sourced the guide, the firm simultaneously stated that it had also joined the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)’s “sustainability pledge”, targeted at footwear and apparel stakeholders who commit to applying UNECE’s own “toolkit” of traceability and transparency measures.
Director of impact programmes and sustainability at GFA, Holly Syrett, called the playbook “a helpful public resource to support us all in taking action towards a net-positive industry”.
