New Zealand-based traceability technology provider Oritain Global has opened a US office in Washington to accommodate its rapid growth.

Oritain’s method combines forensic science and statistics to detect naturally occurring elements in fibres.

Soil composition and other environmental factors give the fibre an inherent ‘fingerprint’ specific to each location. 

With partnerships under way with Cotton USA, Supima and Theory, the company is working developing new markets such as hemp.

The opening of this fifth global office for Oritain represents the increasing importance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) to businesses, consumers and markets in general, it said.
