Isbjörn logs major growth

Chief executive, Maria Frykman, commented: “We are growing steadily and making a healthy profit, which is great, but speedy growth has never been a priority for us. It is more costly to be sustainable and you must run a healthy business to achieve environmental goals. Our sustainability roadmap is clearly set.”
Isbjörn, which has committed to being microplastic-free by 2026, fully circular by 2030 and becoming net zero by 2045, has now incorporated recycled nylon into its hardshell outerwear, for example, but Ms Frykman stressed that this took the brand “some time”. Of utmost importance was ensuring that the use of recycled raw material did not compromise product performance, which necessitated a lengthier development process, she said.
Ms Frykman further added that Isbjörn aims to always follow a slower and more sustainable blueprint, with all articles designed to last and, ultimately, passed down to younger siblings or friends.
