Mr Stevens joins Polygiene after more than ten years as general manager for textiles at US-based antimicrobial and odour adsorption solutions provider Sciessent. Earlier in his 33-year career he held senior roles in China and Indonesia.

Chief operating officer is a new role at Polygiene. The Swedish company said its aim in creating the position was to achieve further growth and scale up its technology. Chief executive, Ulrika Björk, described it as “a strategically important step”.

For his part, Frank Stevens said he viewed a combination of “mill-level problem solving” and solid relationships with customers as the keys for capitalising on growth opportunities.
