A former global group director of textiles at US odour control technology provider Microban, Bart Kennedy, has been named technical sales director at Malmö-headquartered group Polygiene, the latter has announced.

Mr Kennedy, who is based in the US, has also previously held senior sales, marketing and merchandising roles at fibre and fabric developers such as Lenzing, Kaltex, Crypton and Invista, where he primarily worked with the Lycra, Coolmax and Thermolite brands between the years 2007 and 2010.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr Kennedy has built relationships with brands including Lululemon, adidas, Nike, Under Armour, Spanx, Victoria’s Secret and fashion group PVH over the course of his career to date.

“A sustainability advocate with an admirable sales track record, his passion for innovation in this field, coupled with his ability to nurture relationships with global brands, is a real boon for Polygiene,” the company’s chief executive, Ulrika Björk, said of the appointment.

Specialist antimicrobial and odour control technology developer Polygiene also onboarded textile chemicals specialist Frank Stevens as chief operating officer, a new role, last summer. At the time, it pointed to an ambition to scale its technologies and catalyse growth opportunities through cultivating solid customer relationships.
