GOTS certification for Sciessent anti-odour technology
Antimicrobial, anti-odour, anti-pilling, and water repellent technologies developer Sciessent has achieved certification from GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) for its NOBO anti-odour technology.
This certifies that NOBO’s chemistry formulation and production processes meet the required GOTS ecological and sustainability criteria, Sciessent said. It also affirms that NOBO causes no adverse effects to the ecosystem or biodiversity throughout its lifecycle.
Specifically formulated to reduce odour in natural and synthetic fabrics without the use of an antimicrobial, the technology adsorbs compounds responsible for body odour.
“Achieving GOTS Certification is a testament to our emphasis on sustainability during product development,” said chief executive, Paul Ford. “We want to ensure every product we release adheres not only to our own company values, but to the requirements necessary for a more eco-friendly industry.”
