Sanitized's new CTO has sustainability focus
Specialist antimicrobial textile technologies provider Sanitized, based in Switzerland, has appointed Dr Martin Cadek (pictured) to the role of chief technology officer (CTO), responsible for leading its Competence Centre for Technology Innovation and developing new, sustainable products.
Dr Cadek received a doctorate in physics from Trinity College Dublin in 2004 and subsequently served in senior leadership roles, working with polymers, fibres, industrial textiles and extruded polymers. Most recently, he was managing director and vice-president of operations at German flexographic printing firm XSYS Global. He has cultivated a particular interest in speciality chemicals such as carbon black, carbon nanomaterials and carbon-carbon composites over his career.
“Martin Cadek understands, lives and breathes our philosophy of thinking and acting with customers and solutions in mind, where sustainability plays a crucial role,” commented Sanitized chief executive, Michael Lüthi.
“I am continuously impressed at the amount of everyday products and applications in which Sanitized is used,” Dr Cadek added. “My family and I value the Sanitized-treated sportswear and equipment, due to the hygienic and odour-free functions. I personally appreciate it even more as an active hockey player and runner.”
The company’s Competence Centre for Technology Innovation will be built on top of its TecCenter and service all three of its divisions: textiles; polymer additives; and coatings and preservation, Sanitized said.
