Polygiene releases financial results for 2025
The Swedish specialist in antimicrobial and odour control technologies released its financial results for FY 2025 this morning. The presentation featured the company’s new CEO, Dr Sandrine Garnier (pictured), who was appointed late last year. With a PhD in polymer sciences, the French-Dutch national was head of Addmaster a few years back, before Polygiene acquired the supplier of antibacterial additives for hard surfaces in 2020.

As for many companies, 2025 was a difficult year for Polygiene, whose sales fell 6.6% at SEK 146.6 million (or just under €13 million). Niklas Blomstedt, CFO and deputy CEO, said that the drop in revenues is due mostly to adverse currency rates. Without those externalities, “sales were more or less flat in 2025,” he said. Other key figures, such as operating profit, margins and cash flow were down, leading the company to abstain from proposing a dividend this year.

In addition to market uncertainty, Dr Garnier noted the impact of skyrocketing silver prices as a challenge for the business. The price of silver was $800 to 900 a kilo in late 2024 and jumped to nearly $3,300 in 2025, stabilising towards the end of the year at $2,200, she said. “This is a critical raw material for both of our business,” she added.

On a more positive note, she mentioned the many partnerships Polygiene formed in the sports and outdoor sectors last year. Fila introduced Polygiene’s StayFresh technology, and the company has established a new partnership with UK retailer Go Outdoors. The company is also looking to expand into new markets, including the growing petcare sector, as well as hunting and fishing.
