A number of companies in the outdoor and sports textiles supply chain announced at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit on May 16 that they are joining an initiative called Make Fashion Circular.

Set up by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the initiative aims to build on the foundation’s 2017 report, ‘A New Textiles Economy’.

Core partners include Burberry, Gap, H&M, Nike and and Stella McCartney and the project has the support of C&A Foundation and Walmart Foundation.

A further 16 participants have now joined the initiative to help drive momentum towards the vision for a circular economy for fashion. They include the fabrics division of WL Gore, knitted fabrics manufacturer Tintex and fibre manufacturer Radici Group. DuPont Biomaterials, Lenzing Group Solvay, and VF Corporation have also joined.
