Gloria Schoch, executive director of The VF Foundation, said: “Europe represents an important part of VF’s footprint when it comes to our investment in local communities and collaboration with civil society to be a force for good.”
Projects funded include:
• Longboard Women United –Supporting programmes in Belgium and Germany that teach children of immigrants how to skateboard to create a sense of community. One of the aims is to expand the program to the refugee center in Worriken, where many Ukrainian refugees have arrived.
• Summit Foundation - The grant will support 30 clean-up operations in Switzerland and 10 in Italy each year. “The mountain is one of the most precious heritages for its inhabitants,” said Teo Gursoy, project manager of Clean-Up Tour. “Everyone who lives near the mountain has a specific relationship with its peaks. A clean-up day is a good opportunity to give something back.”
• London Wildlife Trust (LWT) - The main purpose of the grant will be to sustain the work of Flock Together, a nature support group combatting the underrepresentation of black, brown and people of colour in the outdoors. The core objective is to establish an effective model for Flock Together Academy sessions, which caters to the 11–20-year-old age group.
