Eastman to push Naia for womenswear in Paris
18/09/2018
Launched in January 2017, Naia is produced from wood pulp, sourced from qualified suppliers holding internationally recognised sustainable harvesting certifications.
Eastman has said the yarn’s qualities mean that any fabric made with it will have superior breathability and moisture management. Garments made from Naia are said to be easy to care for, can be laundered at home, and have excellent wrinkle recovery and pilling resistance.
Naia will also feature at Première Vision’s ‘Smart Square’, an area dedicated to sustainable and innovative approaches to fashion.
In line with the ethos behind Naia, Eastman’s booth at the exhibition will be made from sustainable plywood from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests, recycled copper piping and FSC-certified paper. There will also be mannequins made from recycled carboard.
The garments on display at the booth are inspired by fashion trends that the Naia team has identified as ideal applications for fabrics made with the yarn.
