TWD takes steps to tackle microplastics

25/03/2019
German fibre manufacturer TWD has announced a company policy to minimise the emission of microplastics.

It has upgraded the wastewater treatment operation at its factory to make sure it collects plastic particles from its production of polyester and polyamide 6.6 yarns.

It has accepted that the textile industry has a share of the responsibility for marine pollution from microplastics, although it has also said the share of microplastics that come from the textile industry is “frequently overestimated”.
