ASICS to welcome more start-ups to catalyst programme
Athletic footwear and apparel group ASICS has opened applications for the 2019 intake of start-ups to its TENKAN-TEN catalyst programme.

It first ran this initiative in 2018, welcoming five start-ups. The programme takes its name from a Japanese expression that means ‘turning point. Its objective is to act as a growth catalyst for start-up companies related to the sports and physical activity industries.

Last year’s intake included Swiss sustainable clothing company Pyrates and fitness discovery application developer Runnin’ City from France.

The window for applications to be part of this year’s programme is June 9. The start-ups selected will receive €30,000 and will have access to ASICS executives and other high-profile figures.

The 2019 programme will start in September and will take place at the ASICS Innovation Hub in Barcelona and the company’s new EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam. This year, it has partnered with the IESE Business School in Barcelona to offer the founders of the selected start-ups exposure to real-life challenges and business cases.
