Brazilian brand will sell shoes to help street dogs

In addition to its work to support São Paulo-based charity Sopro de Amor, which provides practical support to families with children receiving cancer treatment, Somos Numa has now announced that it intends to sell 160 pairs of its recycled cotton, recycled PET and recovered rubber tennis shoes with the specific aim of raising funds for Patas Dadas.
Patas Dadas is a Porto Alegre-based initiative that rescues street dogs. Somos Numa said it would donate the money from the sale of 160 pairs of its shoes to the charity, specifically to allow it to build up a fund to pay unexpected veterinary bills for sick or injured dogs that Patas Dadas takes in.
Volunteers run Patas Dadas and have capacity for looking after 20 rescued dogs at a time, caring for them and working to place them with families. However, if one of the dogs needs treatment, the organisation often finds itself facing relatively big and unexpected bills. Somos Numa said it wanted to help the charity build up a fund that will help it pay those bills when they arise.
