VF completes separation into two companies

Footwear and apparel group VF Corporation has officially completed the separation of its jeans business into a separate entity. The new company, known as Kontoor Brands, began trading on the New York Stock Exchange of May 23.

It includes the Wrangler, Lee and Rock & Republic brands, as well as the VF outlet business.

The separation was achieved through the distribution of 100% of the shares of Kontoor Brands to holders of VF common stock. VF shareholders received one share of Kontoor Brands common stock for every seven shares of VF stock they held at close of business on May 10.
