The founder of yogawear brand Lululemon, Chip Wilson, has invested $100 million in Chinese sportswear group Anta. The investment gives him a 0.6% stake in the company, Forbes has reported.

Anta has said the sale of shares to Mr Wilson “represents a valuable opportunity for the company to bring in a renowned investor with strong financial resources and an extensive business network.”

He is best known for launching Lululemon in 1998. He stepped down as chairman of the company in 2013 after disagreements with fellow directors and has since been a vocal commentator about its activities.

Earlier this year, Mr Wilson’s investment company, Anamered Investments, was part of a consortium led by Anta that acquired Finnish group Amer Sports, owner of brands such as Atomic, Salomon and Wilson.
