Positive results for cooling technology company brrr

08/07/2019
Cooling fabric technology developer brrr has presented the results of independent testing it commissioned to explore the effectiveness of its materials.

Founded in 2014 and based in Atlanta, the company says its patented technology offers a ‘Triple Chill Effect’ thanks to a combination of natural minerals, active wicking and rapid drying. It has so far found applications in business and casual clothing, athletic apparel, uniforms and sheets.

The aforementioned testing was carried out in the first half of 2019 by Intertek Testing Services Taiwan. It took place in accordance with standards set by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) and the Committee for Conformity Assessment of Accreditation and Certification of Functional and Technical Textiles (FTTS).

The results showed brrr nylon and polyester fabrics performed better than what it calls “comparable products” in Qmax (which measures coolness to the touch), wicking and dry time.

For example, one of the tests studied how long it took for four different nylon fabrics to dry. The brrr fabric required six minutes and 16 seconds, exceeding the next best by more than a minute. One of the fabrics tested took more than twice as long to dry.

"These independent tests once again confirm brrr's superior capabilities in removing heat and moisture so people can feel comfortable and confident in whatever they do," said Apurba Banerjee, the company’s chief scientist.
