Recyclability is the key to new Napapijri jacket

Italian outdoor brand Napapijri has announced that the latest version of its Skidoo jacket, Skiddo Infinity, has been designed and manufactured to be recycled at the end of its useful life.

The jacket uses Econyl recycled nylon 6, from Aquafil, which Napapijri chose for its performance characteristics and for its ability to be recycled time and time again. The brand will invite buyers of the product to register the date of their purchase online, with the promise that Napapijri will take it back from them after at least two years’ wear.

Aquafil chief executive, Giulio Bonazzi, has said of the jacket’s recyclability: “It’s completely circular. Napapijri will be the first brand to take jackets back from consumers to recycle them into new Econyl. In this way, even when the jacket reaches the end of its lifecycle, it’s just the beginning.”
