Milliken names new head of textiles division

Textiles group Milliken & Company has appointed Chad McAllister as president of its Performance & Protective Textiles division, which includes the Polartec fabric brand.

Mr McAllister joined Milliken’s chemical division in 2001. He joined the division he will now lead in 2010, taking on the role of chief financial officer. 

Announcing this appointment, Halsey Cook, president and CEO of Milliken, said: “Chad is a strong and proven business leader. His career accomplishments have uniquely prepared him to lead Milliken’s largest and most diversified division into the future.”

Jeff Price, who previously occupied the role of president of Performance and Protective Textiles, is taking over as vice president of operations of the overall Milliken group. He has been at the company for more than 40 years. 

Milliken announced the acquisition of Polartec in June. It has since appointed Steve Layton as president of the brand. He replaced Gary Smith, who was previously Polartec’s CEO.
