Swiss subsidiary of Radici joins Operation Clean Sweep

Fibre manufacturer Radici Group is to extend its involvement in a project Operation Clean Sweep, which aims to decrease plastic waste.

Radici began applying the practices of Operation Clean Sweep to its engineering polymers business a year ago. It has now decided that its Noyfil synthetic fibres subsidiary should follow suit.

Operation Clean Sweep is an international programme promoted by Plastics Europe with the goal of zero pellet loss.

General manager of Noyfil SA, Alberto Giana, said at the time of the announcement that the local authorities close to the company’s headquarters in Stabio, Switzerland, have been asking questions about plastic waste following the discovery of plastic microfibres in Swiss lakes.

“We have shown them how we operate in our plant,” Mr Giana said. “We have decided to make a more structured commitment by pledging to implement the Operation Clean Sweep procedures, as other group companies have already done.”
