The US government has announced a delay on some items on the latest list of imports from China to which it will apply 10% tariffs from September 1 and has excluded others from the list indefinitely, but many sports clothing, footwear and equipment products remain caught up in the trade dispute between the two companies.

Trade authorities in the US announced on August 13 that it will delay the imposition of the new tariffs on some items until December 15. Some golf shoes and other sports shoes are on the December list.

Many more sports products that US brands and retailers import from China remain on the September 1 list and will be subject to extra tariffs of 10% from then. These range from golf clubs and lacrosse sticks to aquatic sports equipment and ice skates. Many items of clothing and even textile machinery are also on the September list.
