YKK makes US manufacturing decision

YKK makes Natulon zippers from material made from recycled plastic bottles, old fibre and other polyester remnants; it has calculated that production of 10,000 of the zippers of 60 centimetres in length will consume 3,600 recycled plastic bottles.
It said on making the announcement that making these zippers in the US would further reduce the product’s environmental impact from the levels incurred in sourcing it overseas. It will also reduce lead times.
