Citywear and active-sport crossovers proved a hit in techno-tailoring. “Membrane wools are sought after for a flawlessly elegant raincoat,” according to Première Vision, while “for truly sporty uses, patterns inspired by classic menswear and authentic woollens gained ground.” Companies highlighted included Regal Wool, Microtex, Concordia, Estethia and Schoeller Textil.
The survey also showed that high-altitude specialists were looking for performant and lighter products, as well as fabrics that could perform under increasingly extreme conditions. Feedback showed a growing preference for "extra-fine bondings; slim, flexible and compact three-layers; wind-proof and down-proof qualities that are opaque yet very light.” Companies highlighted included Livinax by Itochu, Schoeller Textil, Chori, Erictex, SL Textile, Texever Plus and Heyone.
For natural protectors, according to findings, “buyers want the technical nature of waterproof, waterproof/breathable and climatic products to be invisible, hidden under authentic handles". In outdoor wear, "hiking specialists are looking for woolly and linen-y feels.” Première Vision added that the emergence of “cottony corduroys” confirms this quest for authenticity. Companies highlighted included Ego / Pecci, Majocchi NT, Concordia Textiles, ITS Artea and others.
Popular cosy knits included “fleeces that were foamy on the inside; soft, plump double-faces; and soft, fleece-backed bondings and woolly piqués", with respondents preferring climate protection that was cosy and comforting. Companies highlighted included SNT, Kingwhale, Balas Textile, Aleberto Bardazzi, M.I.T.I. and Singtex.
