Plants and flowers produce antimicrobial chemicals as a defense against threats like bacteria, fungi and moulds, according to the Belgium-based company; such natural, biocidal ingredients inspired development of a new range of odour-control and anti-dust mite products.
BI-OME Natural's active ingredients include linseed oil and chrysanthemum — all of which the company said are organic, GMO free, biodegradable and recyclable.
In Tones of Cool Bio, the phase change materials (PCMs) used are derived from plant-based, sustainable, natural sources, and are said to have lower flammability than traditional paraffin-based PCMs.
The company emphasised its long track record with sustainable solutions, pointing to its 1995 launch of a halogen-free flame retardant and the 2001 release of a non-migrating antimicrobial solution. Last year, the company released a bio-based flame retardant.
