Nike pays tribute to Kobe Bryant

“Our heartfelt sympathies go out to everyone involved and impacted,” Nike said.
It went on to say: “Kobe was one of the greatest athletes of his generation and has had an immeasurable impact on the world of sport and the community of basketball. He was a beloved member of the Nike family. We will miss him greatly.”
Kobe Bryant’s work with Nike included a series of special shoe releases, which continued after the shooting guard ended his 20-year playing career in 2016.
Highlights included the Commemorative Kobe Bryant Black Mamba Air Force 1 shoes, which Nike issued in 2017, with the number eight on the heel of the left shoe and the number 24 on the right. This was to commemorate an accolade accorded by the player’s only club, the LA Lakers, which retired both numbers in recognition of Kobe Bryant’s achievements.
