Saucony has opened its first store, marking what the company said is a milestone in its development in the China market.

Located in Shanghai’s Super Brand Mall, the store held a grand opening event at which Michael Yuan, CEO of Saucony China, spoke.

In a release about the event, Saucony described Shanghai as an “important economic and fashion center of China” and said the move is “set to spark a leap in Saucony’s long-term development in the country”.

The company also said the running shoe brand is “actively mapping out its retail network in China by entering major business zones” to cater to growing demand. The company plans to open more bricks-and-mortar stores in other cities in China.
