Saucony chooses suede for fastest-shoe update
Outdoor brand Saucony has reengineered its “fastest” shoe with an ultra-light upper and will unveil the design at a 10K race at the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen, Germany, at the end of September.

Endorphin Pro+ is based on the Endorphin Pro 2, with a carbon-fibre plate and a “superfoam”, but the new upper is made from suede and a lighter weight mesh, with reduced tongue complexity and printed detailing.

Shawn Hoy, Saucony’s senior vice-president of global product and innovation, said: “Our elite runners wanted to go faster and wanted us to help them. The Endorphin Pro+ delivers even more speed with a more minimal upper that shaves grams off the weight so runners can shave seconds off their time.

“And what better way to share the Endorphin Pro+ than with a fun event with a group of awesome runners at a truly great venue.”

Saucony was founded in 1898 and is a division of Wolverine World Wide.
