Mizuno Korea donates shoes to refugees
Mizuno Korea recently donated sneakers worth 10 million South Korean won (around $8300) as part of efforts to support the underprivileged, including 205 pairs of sneakers to be delivered to refugees who have fled to Lebanon in the Syrian civil war.
"Sneakers will be useful for refugees who can't even buy their shoes because they have a hard time making a living," said a spokesperson.
Mizuno Korea donated shoes to ReHoPE, a non-profit organisation that works with refugee camps around the world.
ReHoPE stands for Refugee and Host Population Empowerment; the organisation’s strategy is to explore opportunities that benefit both refugees and the communities that host them, often bridging the gap between existing humanitarian and developmental interventions.
"As a company with a history of 115 years since its founding,” the company said, “we have been making donations for the underprivileged at home and abroad with the intention of contributing to society through sports promotion."
