Icebreaker report includes plastic-free goal for 2023

Outdoor and performance brand Icebreaker has released its third annual transparency report, in which it celebrates its 25th anniversary and lays out sustainability goals.

Among the report’s highlights are the wool specialists’ goal to use all plastic-free materials by 2023. It also recaps the brand’s efforts to raise awareness of the impact of microplastics and microfibres by teaching consumers that natural fibres can be washed less often.

The report, which the New Zealand-based company said answers the question, “what if you could see everything we do?”, also provided a cradle-to-grave analysis of its original natural base layer to “assess the full environmental impacts associated with all stages of the product's life, from raw material to end use”.
