Users will be able to scan their stretchy, body-measuring polka-dot bodysuit with a smartphone, which will then allow them to upload their measurements and order custom-made clothes. The intention behind the garment is to reduce the amount of clothing returns due to inaccurate sizing.
Another product, the “Zozomat”, for measuring feet, has reportedly reduced the number of shoe returns by around a third.
“Zozosuit 2” represents a complete engineering overhaul of the original design, which suffered from reports of poor sizing. To create the new version, Zozo’s engineers reworked the garment’s algorithms and increased its number of measuring markers from 400 to 20,000.The suit can be produced at a “low cost via an easily scalable printing process,” the company said in a statement.
