Indorama aims for 10 billion recycled bottles per year in Europe
Fibre manufacturer Indorama has announced an investment of $1.5 billion in its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling operations in Europe.
As part of the investment, the Thailand-based group will expand two PET plastic bottle recycling facilities in Poland and open a further bottle recycling plant in Verdun in northern France.
It said this would make it possible for it to recycle an additional 1.7 billion bottles per year in Europe, taking its total annual capacity there to 10 billion bottles by 2023.
Its head of operations in Europe, François Lagrue, said: “This will lend significant support in realising the EU’s plastic collection and recycling targets.”
