Thailand-based fibre manufacturer Indorama Ventures was recently recognised by the Thai Sustainable Business Awards (a regional platform for promoting sustainability across South-East Asia) in seven categories.

Indorama won awards in the climate change, supply chain management and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) categories, and also received four special recognition awards in the categories of strategy and sustainability management, workforce, water management and waste and material productivity.

Yashovardhan Lohia, chief sustainability officer at Indorama, commented: "I am so proud and honoured to have the company recognised in the Sustainable Business Awards. We focus on long-term sustainability through recycling, contributing to the circular economy, reducing resource consumption and emissions, increasing renewable energy usage and developing human capital based on integrity and ethical principles, which corresponds to our vision of becoming a world-class chemical company, creating great products for society and driving a sustainable economy."

Indorama Ventures is the leading global manufacturer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) - primarily used as a raw material in the making of bottles, fibres, films and filaments - and aims to recycle 50 billion PET bottles a year by 2025
