Double A score for Lenzing
Non-profit group CDP, which campaigns to encourage companies and governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests, has given recognition to the work fibre manufacturer Lenzing is doing in these areas.
It has placed Lenzing on its ‘A List’ for two of the three areas, tackling climate change and protecting forests.
For its most recent lists, CDP scored more than 5,800 companies, based on data they submitted in response to detailed questionnaires. This was Lenzing’s first disclosure of the data to CDP.
“We are particularly proud to be the only first-time discloser who has achieved an ‘A’ score for tackling climate change and acting to protect forests,” said Lenzing chief executive, Stefan Doboczky. “The double ‘A’ score reconfirms our long-term sustainability strategy and is an acknowledgement of our efforts on transparency as well as sustainable raw material sourcing.”
