Bluesign completes revision of its lists
Specialist textile chemicals certification body Bluesign Technologies has completed an overhaul of its chemical substances lists, the information resource it offers to companies in the textile industry to help them make more sustainable products.
This 2021 revision of the lists came into effect on July 1 and incorporates new scientific information about the toxicological and ecological profile of substances, new legal classification of chemical substances, new legal consumer-safety limits, revised risk assessments, feedback from industry experts and new analytical standards.
Updates include new, more stringent restrictions on free aniline content in chemical products. Aniline reduced indigo is now a must for bluesign-approved indigo types, the organisation said.
