Sporting goods focus for Teijin plant in Vietnam

Production has begun at a new factory in Vietnam set up by fibre developer Teijin.

The new plant, located in Ha Nam province, 50 kilometres from Hanoi, will specialize in carbon fibre products for sports and outdoor. Teijin said golf, cycling, ice hockey and fishing products will be among the first to contain carbon fibres from the Ha Nam facility.

Teijin has said it expects increasingly strict environmental measures to stimulate greater demand for lightweight, rigid carbon fibre.
