Clothing brands and retailers Inditex, Lacoste, Primark, PVH Corp, and Ralph Lauren have formally become partners of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, which works to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation launched its Make Fashion Circular programme is now entering its fourth year. It believes the programme has already demonstrated that creating clothes for a circular economy is possible. It cites its Jeans Redesign project, in which fashion companies have already brought to market more than half a million pairs of “circular jeans”.

It said on announcing the five new partners that they would add their weight to driving the momentum towards “the Make Fashion Circular vision”, in which apparel, footwear and accessories receive more use, are made from safe, recycled or renewable inputs and are “made to made again”.
