Chris Melton returns ‘home’ to inov-8
UK-based running brand inov-8 has named a Global Category Manager for Cross Training and head of footwear and apparel for Central and South America.

Chris Melton from Massachusetts, US, worked for inov-8 between 2011 and 2014, holding the position of general manager of the Americas and head of fitness and training.

Mr Melton (pictured), who joins inov-8 from Runderwear, said: “Even while with other brands following my inov-8 days, I never stopped wearing inov-8 product, and have remained passionate about what inov-8 stands for. I feel like I’m coming ‘home’.”

The dad-of-two enjoyed five years at Vibram between 2014-2019, managing the Vibram FiveFingers and Furoshiki business in North and South America, as well as distribution in Australia and Japan.

He then worked for Gill Marine, a sailing and fishing apparel company, before joining Runderwear as head of North America.

Wayne Edy, who founded inov-8 in 2003, said: “I’m really excited to have Chris back. He has a huge amount of experience, plus a deep knowledge and love of the inov-8 brand. I’m confident he can help steer the brand towards significant global growth in the exciting cross training category.”
