Under Armour CEO to step down

The chief executive of Under Armour, Patrik Frisk, is to leave the role on June 1. Chief operating officer, Colin Browne, will take over on an interim basis while the Baltimore-based brand carries out a search for a permanent successor. The search will be internal and external, it said.

Mr Frisk (pictured) joined Under Armour in 2017 from footwear group Aldo and became the sports brand’s chief executive at the start of 2020, replacing founder, Kevin Plank, in that role. He will remain at Under Armour in an advisory capacity until September 1.

Kevin Plank, who is now Under Armour’s executive chairman and brand chief, thanked Patrik Frisk for helping the brand make “significant strides in advancing enterprise-wide operational excellence” during his time in Baltimore. Mr Plank added: “There is a huge opportunity in front of us. We are moving forward and will continue to connect with athletes in exciting ways, offering them exactly what they need when they need it.”
