Textile Exchange welcomes Elevate Textiles
Elevate Textiles, the US-based group behind companies including Burlington, American & Efird and Cone Denim, has announced its membership of industry standards body Textile Exchange, an advocate for preferred fibres and materials.

Already a signatory of Textile Exchange’s Recycled Polyester Challenge, which launched in April of last year, Elevate Textiles said that it was pleased to now obtain full membership. (The polyester initiative aims to boost industry-wide use of recycled polyester from 14% to 45% by 2025.)

“This membership gives our company and brands additional tools needed to achieve preferred fibre goals and holistically reduce our impact from the start of the supply chain,” commented chief sustainability officer at the group, Jimmy Summers. “We look forward to continuing our work with [Textile Exchange] to provide our customers and stakeholders with the most responsibly and sustainably sourced materials possible.”

Mr Summers added that Elevate Textiles already abides by Textile Exchange guidelines at “many” of its facilities, specifically the Organic Cotton Standard, Recycled Content Standard and Global Recycled Standard.
