Growth for Columbia, with concerns about H2
Outdoor group Columbia Sportswear has reported revenues of $1.33 billion for the first six months of 2022. This represented an increase of 12% year on year. The US market accounted for $914 million of the total revenue.
Chief executive, Tim Boyle, said all of the group’s brands contributed to growth over the six-month period but that footwear brand Sorel had led the way with growth of 33%.
But he added: “As 2022 has progressed, it is increasingly clear that the operating environment has become more challenging. Based on growing economic uncertainty we believe it is prudent to take a more conservative approach to our financial outlook for the balance of the year.”
