New plans and a global vision for Neonyt

Sustainable fashion trade show Neonyt, owned by event organiser Messe Frankfurt, will next take place as a business-to-business exhibition in Düsseldorf from January onwards, as part of efforts to fine-tune and further develop the concept to best meet the demands of contemporary retailers.

“There continues to be no doubt about the potential of the sustainability community and much has happened, especially over the last two years,” commented vice-president of textiles and textile technologies at Messe Frankfurt, Olaf Schmidt. “Consequently, we must recalibrate our concepts and events. Given that many of today’s collections are only accessible to limited target groups, one of the biggest challenges is to make sustainable fashion suitable for the retail sector, too.”

Whereas the Düsseldorf edition will now be planned and operated by Igedo Company – and take place alongside the city’s Fashn Rooms fair as a licence show in the future – Messe Frankfurt is also actively organising international satellite Neonyt exhibitions, it said. Meanwhile, the Fashionsustain conference will run concurrently to Fashn Rooms in Düsseldorf.

Not to exclude Frankfurt, the success of Neonyt Lab there in June has only deepened Messe Frankfurt’s commitment to holding similar events in its home city, it added.
